Getting all glam’ed up is one of our favorite parts of the wedding day because who doesn’t love feeling pampered? We have mad respect for those talented men and women who can transform our look and make us feel beautiful, so we sat down with Jessica Austin from Make Me Blush Destin to find out more about how she got started and how much she loves what she does.
What all services do you offer to brides?
Jessica: I currently offer airbrush makeup, bridal hair styling, and updos. I also offer to travel on location to wherever the bride and her girls are getting ready, for their convenience.
And you’re the best at what you do. Tell us more about the magic that is airbrush makeup, since we are seeing this more frequently.
Jessica: The airbrush makeup that I offer contains a water resistant formula that helps the makeup stay put during the hot and humid months, which is why it’s so perfect for our summer weddings. It also is great for those sweet emotional moments that tears seem to follow 🙂
We can’t think of a better reason than that to request airbrush! How long have you been doing hair/makeup?
Jessica: I am licensed with over 10 years experience, and Make Me Blush Destin is 9 years old. I’m originally from San Antonio Texas, and I went to cosmetology school at the Milan institute of Cosmetology. After a few years of working for Estee’ Lauder and along side Bliss Salon, I developed different feelings. Understanding the wants and needs of a bride on her special day come natural to me. All I want is to make her feel beautiful, the most beautiful version of herself. Since opening Make Me Blush, I have been blessed to work with over 300 brides and their wedding parties!
With so much experience, we know your brides are in great hands. Since you’ve done so many weddings, tell us what your favorite part of a wedding day is?
Jessica: When all of her girls are ‘oohing and awwing’ over the Bride in her dress with her hair and makeup on. It makes me feel like I have accomplished the look they were going for and I love knowing she’s off to meet her groom looking her absolute best.
We know the brides truly appreciate that. Is there anything else you want brides to know?
Jessica: I truly love what I do, and I’ve been blessed along the way. I am SO honored to have my art and my wonderful brides featured in some of the industries top wedding magazines and blogs such as Style Me Pretty, The Knot, Southern Weddings, Unveiled, Emerald Coast Brides, and many other resources.
