30a Songwriters and Your Wedding
Imagine yourself in a moment where words leave you and the only relief in sight is the music that fills your ears. Whether it’s the strumming of an acoustic guitar or a violin hitting rhythmically to the poignant voice of a songwriter; it’s music that fills the void. It does the talking for you. It sets the mood. It creates the memories.
There’s no better time to find that perfect sound than at the 11th Annual 30a Songwriters Festival in south Walton County happening at various venues along scenic Highway 30a January 17th-20th, 2020. The festival features headline performances by artists from Nashville to right in our very back yard.
Many locals have performed in this multi-location festival, including Kelsey Waters, Kyle LaMonica, and Chris Alvarado. All grew up along the Emerald Coast.
Kelsey was born into a musical family with an instrument always at arms reach and although she’s now rocking a Nashville address working on her first record, she still makes it home for the 30a Songwriters Festival.
Kyle LaMonica (pictured below) is another shining example of a songwriter you want under a 30a wedding sun during your big day. The acoustic rock singer songwriter grew up just west of the beaches of south Walton County in Niceville, FL. While attending Florida State University Kyle majored in music and has since been performing as a solo musician throughout the Florida Panhandle and, more specifically, around Destin, FL.
Adding a local acoustic artist to your wedding can add an extra dimension to the day. “They can create an element of acoustic warmth to a ceremony, cocktail hour, or small reception,” said Avis Glenister, Owner, Wedding and Event Planner at Peach and Pearl Events. “My favorite is booking them for cocktail hour because it’s a welcoming sound before the reception energy kicks up.” Lots of local artists around 30A are open to and love performing at weddings because of the fun environment.
Not only does the music scene along 30A give brides a variety of musical taste to choose from, the 30A Songwriters Festival itself can be a unique way to celebrate with your music loving guests. Many music venues along 30A host these performances and tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis. Outside of venues requiring tickets, many places outside of the festival still offer music to the public. It’s a great way to spend the weekend doing something unique while scouting for your wedding at the same time.
