Rosemary Beach Wedding : Ashley + Charles

Rosemary Beach weddings never disappoint, but we are excited to share with you the wedding of Ashley + Charles and the ways they utilized the Rosemary Beach lawn in a new way. Instead of the typical ceremony set up, they decided to flip the chairs around and have a beautiful architectural backdrop instead of greenery – Gorgeous! Before we featured the wedding, we wanted to learn more about them as a couple.

“Charles and I met one Easter Sunday while my sister and I were hanging out by the pool at my mom’s apartment,” Ashley told us. “My sister and I were initially chatting with one of Charles’ friends from law school, who invited several of his friends to join after a local chef and his bartender friends arrived and turned it into a really fun afternoon. Charles was one of the last to arrive, and when he did, I turned to my sister and said ‘Mine.’ Obviously, I had no idea how literal that comment would become. Not the most romantic story, but five years later we were married.”

It may not seem romantic, but we love hearing brides calling dibs on their man the day they met. What’s that they say? When you know, you know!

We were curious to find out how 30A fit into their story and why they chose our beautiful Rosemary Beach to tie the knot in.

“Both of us had siblings get engaged around the same time, and both had weddings in Mexico. Since our families had done quite a bit of traveling, we started by exploring options in Texas (where we live). When nothing really caught our eye, I suggested we make a trip to the Destin area since it was as beautiful as Mexico and a much easier trip,” Ashely said. “My family spent our summers there growing up. We visited all of the options up and down 30A. Rosemary Beach was the last one we visited and the first place that both of us thought ‘we could get married here’. We rented an incredible house in the perfect location between the beach and St. Augustine green that served as home base for all of our family and friends.”

Florida weather pulled through again, making her St. Augustine Green wedding one for the books. “Despite a close call on rain, the wedding ended up being perfect, besides the fact that it went by way too fast. We had the best vendors and now have the best memories from that day. And, of course, Alena obviously does an incredible job capturing all of it!” Another stunning day – But don’t take our word for it, see for yourself!
