Alys Beach Wedding
In the midst of all the gorgeous weddings we host on 30A, we are excited to share this Alys Beach Wedding, along with Josh and Jessica’s love story. Their story begins back in 2013 when they met working together; Josh was hired as an athletic director and Jessica was coaching a novice group of swimmers. Josh would appear at practice under the presumption he was watching his niece Rylee, but the little one knew better and approached Jessica with a story that her Uncle Josh had a crush on her. After many attempts at getting Jessica’s phone number and a date, his persistence paid off and their first date was in June of 2013.
The proposal happened in Washington DC the following October, while the two were on vacation. After perusing the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument, they made their way to the Reflective Pool that sits between the two. The sun had set when Josh finally grabbed her hand and asked her to be his wife.
“It was pitch dark, so I couldn’t even see the ring.. and the ring was facing backwards in the box. I (obviously) said yes and then we ended up getting in trouble from the tour guide for not making it back to the bus on time”, Jessica told us. “And the ring was WAY too big, so I couldn’t wear the ring for the first month that we were engaged!”
Being local to Panama City, they chose the beautiful Alys Beach on 30A to pledge their vows of forever. They were married April 30, 2016 and an amazing team of vendors helped pull off their beautiful day!
